Chapter 10. Text Tracks > Adding Small Amounts of Text

Adding Small Amounts of Text

By far the simplest method of getting small amounts of text into a movie is to add the text directly to the movie where you’d like it to appear. You don’t need to create a separate text track first and then add it to the other tracks.

To add small amounts of text to a movie:

1.
In a text or word processor, type the text you want to add; then select and copy it.

2.
In the movie to which you want to add the text, move the Current Location indicator to the point where you want the text to first appear.

3.
Add the text in either of the following ways:

  • If you want the text to last 2 seconds, choose Edit > Add (Figure 10.17).

Figure 10.17. If you’ve copied text from a word processor, you can choose Edit > Add to add it to a movie. (You can also choose Edit > Add Scaled.)

  • If you want the text to last for a duration other than 2 seconds, select the duration in the Time slider, and choose Edit > Add Scaled.
