Chapter 11. Sprite, 3D, and Flash Tracks > Changing Properties of Sprite Tracks

Changing Properties of Sprite Tracks

If you want to alter sprite tracks, it makes sense to use the tools that were employed to create and program their interactivity. But you can make some minor modifications quickly by using QuickTime Player. You can alter a track’s visibility, something you might want to do if you have interactive sprites overlaying elements in a video track; although the sprites normally would be invisible, you might want to make them visible for debugging purposes. And you can also turn on or off a sprite track’s capability to respond to user actions.

To change the visibility of a sprite track:

1.
From the Movie menu, choose Get Movie Properties.

2.
From the left pop-up menu, choose the sprite track; from the right pop-up menu, choose Properties 2.

The Properties 2 panel opens (Figure 11.9).

3.
Check or uncheck the Track is Visible checkbox to make a track visible or invisible.

Invisible sprite tracks—unlike disabled tracks—can respond to user actions.
