Opening Files on the Internet

You can use QuickTime Player to open QuickTime movie files (and other media files that QuickTime can open) over the Internet. There’s no need to use a Web browser or any other special software. All you need to know is the movie’s URL.

To open a movie on the Internet:

From QuickTime Player’s File menu, choose Open URL (Figure 2.13).

In the Open URL dialog box, type the URL that specifies the location of the movie or other media file (Figure 2.14), or choose a previously entered URL from the pop-up menu (Figure 2.15).

The file opens as a movie in QuickTime Player.
