Exporting Movies As QuickTime Movies

In some cases, you’ll want to export your movie rather than simply save it. One of QuickTime Player’s export options—Movie to QuickTime Movie—allows you to do the following things that you can’t do by merely saving a file:

Apply compression to video and sound tracks. If your movie contains video and sound tracks, you’ll probably want to compress them to achieve a desired data rate. (This includes changing such characteristics as frame rate and keyframe rate for video and sample rate and sample size for audio.)
