Presenting a Movie

QuickTime Player can display your movie against a black screen. The Player window is not visible, and the movie plays all the way to the end. This option is called presenting a movie, and it’s an effective way to show your movie—particularly when you want a dramatic effect.

To present a movie so that it plays automatically:

1.
Position the Current Location indicator at the point in the movie where you’d like playback to begin.

2.
From the Movie menu, choose Present Movie (Figure 3.10).

The Present Movie dialog box appears.

3.
From the Movie Size pop-up menu, choose your desired movie-window size (Figure 3.11).

For Mode, make sure that the Normal radio button is selected (Figure 3.12).

5.
Click the Play button at the bottom of the dialog box.

The movie appears against a black background, with no controller (Figure 3.13), and it plays from its current location to the end.
