Fast-Forwarding and Fast-Reversing a Movie

Using the QuickTime Player’s buttons, you can play a QuickTime movie in fast motion, fast-forwarding or fast-reversing it. The Player also includes buttons that allow you to jump to the beginning or end of a movie.

To play a QuickTime movie in fast motion:

  • Hold down the Fast Forward or Fast Reverse button.

Located to the right of the Play button, the Fast Forward button shows double triangles pointing to the right; the Fast Reverse button, to the left of the Play button, shows double triangles pointing to the left (Figure 3.6).

Figure 3.6. The Fast Forward and Fast Reverse buttons let you play a movie forward or backward in fast motion. The Go to Start and Go to End buttons jump to the beginning or end of a movie.
