Randomly Accessing Points in a Movie

You can move to any point in a movie quickly, without having to play it or step through it frame by frame. (Unlike a videotape, a QuickTime movie gives you random access!)

To move to any point in a movie quickly:

  • Drag the Current Location indicator in the Time slider to the right or left (Figure 3.5).

    You’ll see the movie image and time display change as you drag the indicator. When you release the mouse button, the movie remains at the point in time represented by the Current Location indicator.

    or

  • Click anywhere in the Time slider.

    The Current Location indicator jumps to the point in the Time slider where you clicked, and the time display updates.
