Chapter 3. Controlling Movies in the Player > Choosing a Language for Playback

Choosing a Language for Playback

Some movies contain tracks (usually, sound or text) in multiple languages. If you have such a movie, you can switch from one language to another. (We’ll cover how to create such movies in Chapter 7.)

To choose a language for playback:

  • From the Movie menu, choose Choose Language (Figure 3.35).

Figure 3.35. Choose Movie > Choose Language.

  • In the Choose Movie Language dialog box, select a language, and click OK (Figure 3.36).

Figure 3.36. Select a language in the Choose Movie Language dialog box.

When you play the movie, the tracks in the selected language are enabled (that is, you can see and hear them). Tracks designated as alternates to those tracks are disabled.
