Changing Video Settings

New to QuickTime Player 5 is the ability to control certain features of your video: brightness, contrast, tint, and color. You can alter these settings for any movie with a visual track. The results of your manipulations are saved when you save the movie. Changing video settings affects all visual tracks in a movie, even if they are disabled or hidden below another track.

To access video controls:

  • From the Movie menu, choose Show Video Controls (Figure 3.28).

    A translucent pane slides up into the bottom of the image area of your movie (Figure 3.29). Assuming that this is the first time you have shown the video controls since the movie was opened, you’ll see the word Brightness above a series of vertical bars.
