Chapter 3. Controlling Movies in the Player

Chapter 3. Controlling Movies in the Player

Now let’s look at the kinds of things you can do to control linear movies from within QuickTime Player.

Using QuickTime Player, you can play and pause movies, randomly access different points in a movie, and change the audio level and playback rate. You can also use QuickTime Player to adjust additional audio and video characteristics; you can make a movie loop, show it full-screen, or search a text track—to name just a few of its capabilities. You can even control multiple movies simultaneously via QuickTime Player.

In this chapter, we’ll show you how to use the Player window buttons that affect all these aspects during playback. We’ll also cover the menu commands for controlling movie playback.
