Chapter 6. Basic Movie Editing > Creating a New Movie and Pasting Movie Data in...

Creating a New Movie and Pasting Movie Data into It

There’s nothing terribly complicated about creating a new movie and placing copied movie data in it. We’ll assume that you have already copied data from another movie. (Note that you can paste only data copied from a QuickTime movie into an empty movie; you cannot paste text or graphics copied from another application.)

To create a new movie and paste something into it:

1.
From the File menu, choose New Player (Figure 6.29).

Figure 6.29. Choose File > New Player.

An empty Player window appears (Figure 6.30).

2.
From the Edit menu, choose Paste (Figure 6.31).

Figure 6.31. Choose Edit > Paste to paste previously copied movie data.

Assuming that the pasted data has a visual component, the movie window expands to fit the data’s dimensions. The entire play bar is selected (Figure 6.32).

When you play the movie, you’ll see that it now contains the pasted data.
