Chapter 6. Basic Movie Editing > Pasting Text and Graphics into a Movie

Pasting Text and Graphics into a Movie

As long as you’re not pasting into an empty movie, you can paste data from applications that handle text or images: You simply follow the same steps that you use to paste movie data. The rules for where the data is pasted are also the same: Unless the Current Location indicator is situated at the end of the movie, the data is pasted immediately before the current image.

Pasting images from a graphics application

If the movie into which you are pasting already includes a visual component, QuickTime resizes and reproportions pasted images to fit the movie window’s current dimensions (Figure 6.27). So it’s best to make sure that the graphic is the same size as the existing window before pasting. If the movie is an audio-only movie, the image retains its original dimensions.
