Chapter 6. Basic Movie Editing > Pasting Movie Data into a Movie

Pasting Movie Data into a Movie

Pasting is not a terribly complicated operation but it does have some idiosyncrasies. One slightly confusing aspect of pasting is that things happen one way if you place the new data at the end of the movie and another way if you place it anywhere else. We’ll explain both situations in this section.

To paste previously copied or cut data at the end of a movie:

1.
In the Time slider, move the Current Location indicator as far to the right as possible (Figure 6.24).

Figure 6.24. When you want to paste data at the end of the movie, move the Current Location indicator as far to the right as possible.

2.
From the Edit menu, choose Paste (Figure 6.25).

Figure 6.25. Choose Edit > Paste to paste previously copied or cut movie data.

The Current Location indicator remains at the end of the Time slider. The last frame of the data that you previously copied or cut appears in the movie window. A portion of the Time slider, which represents the pasted data, is selected. The data has been pasted after the original data.
