Chapter 6. Basic Movie Editing > Copying and Cutting Movie Data

Copying and Cutting Movie Data

QuickTime Player provides the standard Copy and Cut commands that you find in just about all Mac OS and Windows applications. Because you can’t see all the data you’re working with, however, these commands work a bit differently than they do in most programs.

To copy movie data:

1.
Select the movie data that you want to copy (Figure 6.15), as described at the beginning of this chapter.

Figure 6.15. Before copying or cutting, make a selection in the Time slider.

2.
From the Edit menu, choose Copy (Figure 6.16).

Figure 6.16. Choose Edit > Copy when you want to copy data without removing it.

As with most programs, nothing appears to happen when you copy your data; nonetheless, it has been copied and is ready to be pasted elsewhere.
