Chapter 6. Basic Movie Editing > Setting a Preview with Data from Other Movies

Setting a Preview with Data from Other Movies

Just as “coming attractions” for a film aren’t always composed of exact scenes from the film, you may want your QuickTime movie preview to show segments from some other movie—perhaps one composed of highlights edited together expressly for this purpose.

To set a preview that’s composed of data from another movie:

1.
Open the other movie, and make a selection in that movie.

2.
Click the image, and drag it to the Preview panel of the Movie Info window of the movie for which you’re setting a preview.

Release the mouse button when a frame appears around the words Drop Preview Movie Here (Figure 6.58).

Figure 6.58. You can select data in a different movie to be used as a preview. Simply drag the data from the other movie window and drop it in the Preview panel of the movie for which you’re setting a preview.
