Dialogue Tracks

Dialogue or narration is the most information-heavy of your audio elements, and you want it to sound as clear and natural as possible. In fact, it's common practice to equalize or sweeten each voice separately so you can optimize its audio parameters. On a traditional mixing board you can assign only one EQ setting to a given pot, so each voice is placed on a different one.

EQUALIZATION (EQ) Fine-tuning an audio track by boosting or lowering certain frequencies (or bands of frequencies). For instance, you can boost higher frequencies to improve clarity or reduce low-frequency rumble.

SWEETEN A general term referring to various types of manipulation used to improve the sound quality of an audio element or track. Sweetening might include removing hiss or pops, equalizing a track so it will match a particular environment, and so on.
