Sound Makes the Show

Sound is the current that drives the flow of the entire show: an unseen force guiding the movement of the visual elements. This is why L and J cuts are so important to smooth editing. Creating a fluid and apparently seamless audio track is critical to keeping your audience immersed in the film.

The problem for most inexperienced editors is that sound is literally invisible, which makes it easy to forget. But underestimating the importance of sound is a huge mistake.
