Chapter 8. Transitions > Hiding and Showing Items in a Palette

Hiding and Showing Items in a Palette

Just as you can make tracks in the timeline shy, you can specify which items in a palette you'd like to be able to conceal quickly. Though the palette doesn't use the term shy, hiding items in the Transitions, Video, or Audio palette works a lot like hiding shy tracks in the timeline.

To specify items in a palette to hide:

1.
In the Transitions, Video, or Audio palettes, select a folder or item contained in a folder (Figure 8.7).

Figure 8.7. Select a folder or item in the palette.

Select only items whose names are not in italics. Italics indicate that the item is already marked as hidden.

2.
In the palette's pull-down menu, choose Hide Selected (Figure 8.8).

Figure 8.8. From the palette's pull-down menu, choose Hide Selected.

The selected item is marked as hidden. When Show Hidden is checked, hidden items appear in italics: when Show Hidden is unchecked, hidden items do not appear in the palette.
