Saving Custom Settings as a Preset

Even if you're comfortable selecting project settings, making those choices still can be a chore. Fortunately, you can save different settings as presets that appear in the Load Project Settings dialog box. You can also delete presets from the list.

To save settings:

1.
Do either of the following:

  • In the Load Project Settings dialog box, click Custom (Figure 2.38).

or

  • Choose Project > Project Settings > General (Figure 2.39).

The General panel of the Project Settings dialog box appears (Figure 2.40).

Figure 2.40. The General panel of the Project Settings dialog box appears. Specify your custom settings for each settings category (as explained in the previous sections), and click Save.

Specify the project settings, as explained in the previous sections.

In the Project Settings dialog box, click Save.

The Save Project Settings dialog box appears.

Type a name for your settings, as well as an accurate description that summarizes your choices (Figure 2.41).

Click OK to close the dialog box.

6.
Click OK to close the Project Settings dialog box and start your project.

From now on, your saved preset appears in the Available Presets section of the Load Project Settings dialog box. When this preset is selected, the description appears in the Description area (Figure 2.42).
