Previewing to Disk

By default, a new project is set to preview to disk. By rendering to disk, you can see effects most accurately at the project's frame rate (assuming your disk and system supports the project settings you selected, such as frame rate, frame size, etc.). Along with scrubbing, this is probably the most common preview method, and is generally considered to be the standard.

Of course, this also means you must have ample disk space for the files generated by previews. Like all the files associated with your project, you must specify where to save preview files, understand how they are referenced, and learn how to manage them.
