Chapter 1. Premiere Basics > Using Keyboard Shortcuts

Using Keyboard Shortcuts

One way to increase your speed and efficiency is to take advantage of keyboard shortcuts. In this book, I mention the most commonly used keyboard shortcuts, but you may want to expand your repertoire. If the Quick Reference Card that comes with Premiere isn't handy, you can view the keyboard shortcuts by using the Help menu. If you activate the Tool Tips feature, positioning the pointer over a tool or button will reveal its name and shortcut.

To view the keyboard shortcuts:

1.
Choose Help > Keyboard Shortcuts (Macintosh) or Help > Keyboard (Windows) (Figure 1.21).

Figure 1.21. Choose Help > Keyboard Shortcuts.

Premiere launches your browser and opens the Help feature (Figure 1.22).

Figure 1.22. The Help feature launches in a browser window.

To find a keyboard shortcut, click a topic to view shortcuts in that category, or type a keyword to find a shortcut.

2.
Exit the Help feature.
