Chapter 3. Importing and Managing Clips > Customizing the Project Window

Customizing the Project Window

This chapter usually depicts the Project window with three visible areas: the clip area, the bin area, and the preview area. You can modify the general appearance of the Project window by concealing the bin or preview areas. You can also resize the bin area to make it narrower or wider (but you can't resize either of the other areas).

When you hide the bin area, only the clips of the selected bin are visible; you'll have to reveal the bins again to look at other clips. Hiding the preview area creates more room in the window vertically and relieves Premiere of the burden of creating a thumbnail image. On the other hand, you'll have to live without the cool little picture and clip information.
