Using Linked Clips

When a clip contains both video and audio material, it is known as a linked clip. When you move a linked clip in the timeline, the video and audio portions of the clip move together (Figure 6.54). Similarly, when you change the edit marks of a linked clip, the video and audio tracks both change—unless you deliberately treat them separately.
