Understanding the Timeline and the Editing Workspace

As you saw in Chapter 2, the initial appearance of the timeline reflects the editing model you prefer: A/B roll or single-track editing.

In the A/B roll layout, transitions (such as dissolves and wipes) are represented in three tracks of the timeline: an A track, a B track, and a transitions track. In a single-track editing workspace, you apply transition clips in a single track. What would appear as overlapping frames in the A/B view are not visible in a single track.
