Chapter 12. Creating Titles > Adding Titles to a Project

Adding Titles to a Project

When you create and save a new title while a project is open, Premiere adds the title to the current bin automatically. Otherwise, you have to add titles actively to the current project. In other words, just because a title window is open doesn't mean that it's part of the current project. Like other independent source files, titles aren't part of the project unless they are listed in the Project window.

To add the title to the current project:

Do one of the following:

  • Select an open title window, and choose Clip > Add Clip to Project (Figure 12.10).

Figure 12.10. Select an open title window, and choose Clip > Add Clip to Project…

  • Select an open title window, and press - (Mac) or - (Windows).

  • Drag the title window to the Project or Timeline window (Figure 12.11).

Figure 12.11. … or drag the title window to an empty area of a video track in the timeline.

  • Choose File > Import > File, and select the title file to import it.

The initial duration of the title is determined by the default still-image duration (see "To Set the Default Duration of Still Images" in Chapter 4).
