Leading

Leading (which rhymes with wedding) is a typesetting term that describes the space between lines of text. If a single title object contains more than one line of text, you can adjust the space between the lines.

To adjust leading:

1.
Select a text object containing more than one line of text.

2.
Choose one of the following (Figure 12.70):

Title > Leading > More Leading—increases the space between lines (Figure 12.71).

Figure 12.71. Choose Title > Leading > More Leading to increase the space between selected lines of text.


Title > Leading > Less Leading—decreases the space between lines (Figure 12.72).

Figure 12.72. Choose Title > Leading > Less Leading to decrease the space between selected lines of text.


Title > Leading > Reset Leading—restores the default leading for the font.
