Chapter 5. Creating a Program > Storyboard Window

Storyboard Window

Though creating a storyboard in the Project window works fine for many situations, Premiere's new Storyboard window provides more full-featured storyboard editing. The Storyboard window provides a spacious, dedicated area to create a storyboard. You can add a descriptive note below each clip in the storyboard. Most important, you can save your storyboard as a file. The storyboard file works much like a program file, referring to the clips that it contains. You can open a storyboard file in the current project or separately.

In addition to adding the clips of the storyboard to the timeline, you can export its contents to video. If you're familiar with previous versions of Premiere, you can see how the Storyboard window acts as a kind of replacement for library and sequence files.
