Chapter 16. Capturing Video > Attaching Capture Settings to Items in a Batch Li...

Attaching Capture Settings to Items in a Batch List

In Chapter 2, you learned how to choose and to save preset project settings, which include the capture settings reviewed in this chapter (see "Choosing Capture Settings," earlier in this chapter). The presets included with Premiere are saved in the Settings folder, located in the Premiere application folder.

These preset capture settings can be attached, or assigned, to items in a batch list. This way, the clips you batch capture can use different settings from each another or from the currently selected capture settings. This feature is most useful if you're using a capture card that supports various capture settings. For example, you can easily attach lower-quality settings to items in a batch list that you're using for an offline edit, and attach higher-quality settings to a trimmed batch list at your output quality. By simply attaching settings, you never have to revisit or recheck the capture settings before you capture each batch list. (For more about trimmed batch lists and online editing, see Chapter 15.)
