Chapter 11. Adding Effects > Using the Effect Controls Palette

Using the Effect Controls Palette

Premiere 6 introduces a new palette that furnishes you with a much more efficient and convenient way to control your effects. Appropriately, this palette is called the Effect Controls palette. You'll need to view the Effect Controls palette to adjust static or animated effects.

To open the Effect Controls palette:

  • Do either of the following:

Choose Window > Show Effect Controls (Figure 11.7).

Figure 11.7. Choose Window > Show Effect Controls.

    or

In a grouped palette, click the Effect Controls tab.

    The Effect Controls palette appears.

When a clip containing effects is selected in the timeline, the Effect Controls palette lists the effects in the order in which they have been applied to the clip (Figure 11.8). The Effect Controls palette also gives you access to the clip's transparency settings and motion settings (see Chapters 13 and 14, respectively).
