Lesson 9. Superimposing

Lesson 9. Superimposing

Using the Timeline in Adobe Premiere 6.0, you can create up to 98 different video tracks for countless combinations of layered movies and stills. With the generous selection of transparency keys, you can key out (remove) specific areas of a movie and create customized effects.

In this lesson, you'll create a promotional video for CD-ROM distribution. You'll use the superimpose tracks feature in the Timeline to create transparencies, fades, and other special effects. Specifically, you'll learn how to perform these tasks:

  • Create a split screen.

  • Apply transparency key types and adjust settings.

  • Arrange a series of images in a Bin area and specify the display order in the Timeline.

  • Use the Shy and Exclude track options.

  • Use the fade tools.
