Alternative Controls for Setting Properties

Like many other graphic programs, After Effects allows you to constrain changes of spatial properties. In other words, you can restrict a change in position to the X- or Y-axis; a change in rotation to right angles; or a change in scale to current proportions. You can also see the changes you make as the actual layer, rather than just the outline of the bounding box. Table 7.2 lists the ways you can control these transform properties.
