Managing RAM

After learning more about RAM's close association with frame rendering, your RAM awareness must be heightened. Before you run out to add more RAM to your system, take a few moments to learn how to get the most from the RAM you have.

To purge cached RAM:

Choose Edit > Purge and select any of the following options (Figure 8.43):

Undo clears recent actions from the cache. This prevents you from undoing any recent actions.

Image Caches clears rendered frames from the cache.

Snapshot clears the last snapshot from the cache, so you will be unable to view the last snapshot in any window.

All clears the Undo, Image, and Snapshot caches.

The cached information is purged, making the RAM available to cache new information.
