Suppressing Window Updates

Once you're over the initial excitement of seeing the changes you make appear in the Composition window, you may discover that what seemed to be a blessing may also be a curse. If the frames are difficult to render, updating windows can take time. You may have already noticed how the selection tool cycles between black and white as a particularly difficult frame renders (Figure 8.5). You can prevent the Footage, Layer, and Composition windows from updating by activating your keyboard's Caps Lock key. In this way, you can delay the update, rather than letting it delay you.
