Chapter 13. Keyframe Interpolation > Comparing Motion Paths and Mask Paths

Comparing Motion Paths and Mask Paths

As suggested in Chapter 9, mask paths have a lot in common with motion paths. Although mask paths define shapes and not movement, editing a motion path is nearly identical to changing the shape of an open drawing path. Comparing the terminology used to describe each kind of path helps to reveal their similarities.
