Copying and Pasting Effects

In order to save yourself time and effort, you can copy effects from one layer and paste them into another layer.

To copy a layer's effects into another layer:

1.
In the Effect Controls window, select one or more effects (Figure 10.59).

2.
Select Edit > Copy or press Command-C (Mac) or Ctrl-C (Windows).

3.
In the Time Layout window, select one or more layers (Figure 10.60).

4.
Choose Edit > Paste or press Command-V (Mac) or Ctrl-V (Windows).

The selected layer contains the pasted effects. It does not contain the same keyframes, however (Figure 10.61).
