Using RAM Preview

In After Effects, you can preview your composition at the frames per second (fps) set for your composition using the RAM Preview option. When you use RAM Preview, After Effects renders as many frames as it can given the amount of RAM available on your system. Then, if your system configuration allows, it plays back those frames at the frames per second of your composition.

In the Info palette, After Effects displays the number of frames requested for RAM preview and the number it can render and hold in RAM. To change the number of frames requested, change the size of the work area of your composition. For more information about previewing your composition, see "Previewing the composition" .
