Applying the Drop Shadow effect

You can add any effects to the layers in your composition. You can even apply multiple effects to one layer and animate the effects over time. For more information, see Chapter 9 in the Adobe After Effects 4.0 User Guide.

Here, you'll apply the Drop Shadow effect to the Merged/M.psd layer, and synchronize it with the Scale and Position animation. To make the Drop Shadow appear more realistic as the peppers drop to the center of the image area, you'll change values over time for Opacity, Distance, and Softness.
