Using the Menu Pad

As I've mentioned earlier, most DVD movies display an interactive menu that you can use to select different features—you can simply click your mouse pointer on a menu option to select it, but PowerDVD also provides a slick menu pad that simulates the keyboard pad on a standard DVD player remote control. Because some DVD movie menus may use “hotspot” buttons that aren't easily found on the screen, you can save yourself the trouble of hunting for those hotspots and use the menu pad to navigate the menu, instead.

To display or hide the menu pad, click the vertical button at the far right end of the control panel—you can also press the slash (/) key. Figure 8.11 illustrates the extended menu pad. Click on the desired directional button to navigate around the DVD movie's menu system (the button at the center of the pad is the Enter button, which usually activates the active menu command).
