Using File Mode

As I mentioned at the beginning of the chapter, PowerDVD isn't limited to displaying only DVD movies; you can also listen to audio CDs and display video CDs (also called VCDs) using the same controls as DVD movies—a neat feature and one you'll likely use often.

But why limit yourself to discs? You can view MPEG, QuickTime MOV, and Windows AVI-format video directly from your hard drive! (In fact, most DVD movies are “assembled” and burned from hard drives.) To view digital video files from the hard drive, you must switch PowerDVD to File mode.
