Recording the Disc

When you're ready to record your project, MyDVD gives you three choices:

  1. Make a CD. If you record your project to a CD-R or CD-RW disc, MyDVD creates what's called a cDVD (a trademark of Sonic, the makers of MyDVD)—these discs will play on virtually all computer CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives, using a free viewer program that MyDVD automatically adds to the disc.

  2. Make a DVD. If you record using a DVD+RW or DVD+R disc, your disc will play in most DVD players and computer DVD-ROM drives.

  3. Make a DVD to hard disk. Select this option to create a DVD volume in the folder you specify, which is something like a disc image—although a DVD volume can be recorded to a disc later, it's often used to create a DVD volume for use with software DVD players, such as PowerDVD and WinDVD.
