Chapter 9. Printing Disc Labels and Inserts

Chapter 9. Printing Disc Labels and Inserts

In This Chapter

  • Determining whether a disc needs a label or inserts

  • Applying labels the right way

  • Designing inserts

  • Project: Creating a CD Label

  • Project: Creating a CD Case Cover and Insert Set

Nothing adds a professional appearance to a CD you've recorded better than a custom label—except, perhaps, a custom label and case inserts! As long as you label your recorded discs in some fashion and protect them somehow, you've taken care of the basics; however, a felt-tipped permanent marker and an empty compact disc “jewel box” case won't make a great impression on anyone.

In this chapter, I'll demonstrate how you can use Roxio Easy CD Creator and your computer's printer to turn out CD labels and case inserts that are both attractive and informative—in addition, I'll show you how to apply a custom CD label properly.
