Chapter 12. Making Movies with ArcSoft ShowBiz > Expanding Your Media Library

Expanding Your Media Library

Before I get to the actual movie creation process, you should learn how to add your own video and still elements to the ShowBiz media library—otherwise, you'll be creating great movies, but you'll be limited to the sample elements that ArcSoft provides! (As you'd imagine, this can get pretty boring pretty quickly.)

tip

ShowBiz Media elements are stored in albums, which are actually collections of links to multimedia files on your hard drive—therefore, it's important that you don't add a video clip or still image to your media library until you've stored it where you want it on your system! To illustrate, if you add a digital video clip from your \My Documents\My Videos folder to your ShowBiz library, then move the clip to another folder on your hard drive, you won't be able to access the clip in ShowBiz; instead, it shows up with a red “unavailable” flag within the media library.
