Introducing ShowBiz

The ShowBiz main window that you see in Figure 12.1 has four main parts:

  1. Player window. This window can display your movie at any time while you're editing; it can be resized to several different dimensions.

  2. Media library. The tabbed list at the upper right of the ShowBiz window allows you to choose elements from four different media libraries that you can add to your movie: video, still, and audio media; transitions between scenes; special effects; and text. You can also display miniature thumbnails of the items in your library: Click the Album view mode button at the upper right of the library list to toggle the display of the thumbnails on and off.

  3. Storyboard strip. This strip at the bottom of the window allows you to add elements to your movie from the media library.

  4. Timeline strip. The timeline display usually hides behind the storyboard strip—click the Timeline tab, and you can alter the length of effects and transitions or edit your movie's audio track.
