Glossary 246 Multisession A multisession disc (sometimes called CD-ROM XA ) can carry separate discrete recording sessions, each of which can be accessed one at a time. There are two different types of multi- session discs: incremental (where only the last session is available) and multivolume (where each of the sessions can be read). Older CD-ROM drives may not be able to read multisession discs. Multitasking Running more than one program or application on your computer at once. Multivolume multisession disc A multisession format that stores data in separate volumes on a single disc, each of which can be accessed one at a time. N Network A connected group of computers that can share files, printers, recorders, and modems through a cable or wireless system. Recording over a network is usually not a good idea.
