Chapter 5. Drag-and-Drop Recording with HP DLA > Writing Files to a DLA Disc

Writing Files to a DLA Disc

Don't expect to find complex procedures in this section! DLA operates entirely in the background—nearly invisibly—while you use your new CD or DVD disc. You can read, copy, and move files to your HP DLA disc using the same standard Windows menu commands, keyboard shortcuts, and drag-and-drop mouse operations that you're already using—you can also delete files from the DLA disc (although you can't reclaim the space occupied by the deleted files if you're using CD-R or DVD+R media).

tip

DLA discs are data-only: you can't create an audio CD using HP DLA, and they're not suitable for use in audio CD players. However, you can use a DLA disc to store MP3 files for later. (When you have the chance, you can copy the digital audio files to your hard drive and burn them to a music disc, using HP RecordNow.)
