Formatting a DLA Disc

Like any floppy disk, ZIP disk, or hard drive, a UDF disc must first be formatted before you can write to it. You can do this from the Toolkit, which is available from the Windows Start menu—click Start | All Programs | HP DLA | DLA Toolkit.

Of course, the easier this task is, the better—therefore, you can also simply load a blank CD or DVD disc into the DVD-Writer, which automatically displays the familiar Create dialog. Click HP DLA, and click OK when the program recommends a CD-R or DVD+RW disc—I actually use UDF more often with rewriteable media, such as CD-RW or DVD+RW discs.
