HTML Editing vs. Web Design vs. Page Layout

“Hang on, Mark—I've never created a Web page before!” Don't panic, good reader: In this section, I'll discuss what's available and introduce Netscape Composer, which I'll use to create an example menu later in the chapter.

There are actually three types of programs commonly used today to create Web pages: the HTML editor; Web design programs, such as Microsoft FrontPage and Netscape Composer; and page layout/processing programs, such as Microsoft Word.
