Adding Menus to a DVD

“Should I add a menu to a DVD?” If your project is a simple data DVD and it follows the guidelines I just outlined, it's probably a good candidate for an HTML menu. In fact, the sheer quantity of files that can be stored on a recorded DVD may make a menu practically a requirement; imagine a computer novice trying to locate a single file among thousands in a folder.

However, don't forget that many of the DVD discs you've learned about in earlier chapters already have a menu system when you record them. For example, if you've recorded a DVD movie disc using MyDVD or ShowBiz, there's no need to add an HTML menu system—these discs can be viewed on your computer already, using programs such as PowerDVD.
