Chapter 5. Adding the Right Transition > Incorporating Third-Party Transitions

Incorporating Third-Party Transitions

Over the years, many software developers have been opening their architecture and allowing third-party companies to develop software applications that can be used to enhance the basic program package. This is very true of Adobe Premiere. Throughout this book I mention a number of third-party vendors, what features they offer, and how their software works. Probably the most popular for transitions is Boris Effects. One of my personal favorites is a company called AccessFX in Phoenix, Arizona (see Figure 5.24). It has released two major transition effects plug-ins for Premiere called TransLux and Lord of the Wipes. Check out the AccessFX web site at www.accessfx.com for more information. Its software has some wild prefabricated transitions as well as completely customizable settings to create your own radical transitions. There are many plug-in packages to choose from. Adobe lists a number of third-party developers for Premiere on its web site at http://www.adobe.com/products/plugins/premiere/main.html. Or you can click Third Party Plug-ins under the Related Products link off the main Premiere page. This page briefly describes the company and what types of plug-ins it has created for use with Premiere.
