Chapter 5. Adding the Right Transition > The Transitions Palette

The Transitions Palette

With the release of version 6.0, Premiere significantly improved the process of working with transitions, especially in the organizational structure. You will find all the transition effects grouped into folders according their appropriate category, as shown in Figure 5.2. Finding the right effect is easy. All the wipes are in the Wipe folder, and page peels are in their folder. This saves you considerable time in finding the transitions you want to use. You can move effects from one folder to another or create a new folder to store all your favorite effects in one area. Also, remember Premiere's workspaces. No matter which windows you have open while editing, the Effects Palette is just a click away. You can even save a custom workspace that opens the Transitions Palette specifically.
